Jesus made this clear "come ye blessed of my father," he shall
say to one group, but "depart from me, ye cursed," he will cry
to the other.
How shall Christ come? At ascension the angels said he would
come back the same way he left.
St. Paul says that the "dead in Christ shall rise first" and
meet the lord in the air.
All the glory of heaven will be poured out as Christ comes in
his majesty.
He will come suddenly, without
warning. St Luke in his gospel gives us a
graphic picture of people being suddenly called to meet the lord
when he comes.
Two men will be sleeping, he says one then shall be taken and
the other left behind. Two women will be working together, one
shall be taken and the other left..
Two men will be working in the field, suddenly one shall be
taken and the other remain behind.
When will this happen? It is a mistake to try to set any date
for the coming of the lord.
Jesus says no man knows the day nor the hour.
The advice is clear, concise and to the point: "you must be
ready, for the son is coming at an hour you do not expect."
Be ready every day, month and year in your belief, practice the
greatest commandment of them all........ Love ....... Love god
with all your mind, heart and soul. When it is our time to be
called, let us not leave this earth embarrassed.
Today our church honors the sacred memory of the 318 great
fathers who gathered together in the city of nicer for the first
ecumenical council in the year 325.
One of the most important things they did was to set forth in
precise language the orthodox Christian belief in Christ the son
of god. |
